Forest School at The Old Library

On the second Sunday of every month, we offer Forest School sessions for 6-10 year olds in the Old Library garden. Sessions run from 10am to 12 noon.

Each session we will be exploring nature, playing games, doing crafts, using tools, cooking on the fire, singing and telling stories. Forest school is child led, so they will have the freedom to choose what activities they engage in, and we will tailor the sessions according to the what the children want to do.

Sessions are completely outdoors and run rain or shine. Children will need to be dressed appropriately for the weather. Even on hot sunny days it’s important that children wear long sleeves and trousers to provide protection from sun and nettle stings. Waterproofs and layers are usually a good idea, as they can definitely expect to get muddy!

Food will be available at every session, but if you think your child might be particularly hungry it’s worth them packing a snack. We ask that you disclose any dietary requirements/allergies and any other special requirements when you book.

We offer these sessions on a suggested £10 donation basis, to enable us to cover our costs. We are able to offer sibling and low income discounts if needed.
