Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths
The Community STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) Club takes place every Thursday between 3.30 and 5pm during term-time. The sessions are free of charge and can be joined on a drop-in basis with no prior booking required. The planned activities are mostly suited for children aged 7 and older; younger children are welcome to join, though may need a bit of extra support from a parent or carer.
The activities vary from session to session, depending on volunteer availability. Please check our events & activities calendar for info on upcoming sessions.
The club is co-developed by Old Library volunteers and the DETI Inspire Team at UWE. It receives further support from the STEM Ambassador Hub for the West of England.
The sessions are run by community volunteers, STEM Ambassadors and UWE students. Please note that the club is not intended to provide childcare, so children should be suitably supervised.
To keep everyone sustained and energised, we provide some healthy snack options for the kids and tea & coffee for parents and carers. We want to make the Club as accessible as possible, which is why it is provided free of charge.
However, if you would like to donate to the Club and the Old Library Community Space, we have set up a GoFundMe Page: Community STEM Club Fundraiser. We appreciate any support from our community, financial or otherwise. Please also get in touch should you have any further comments or suggestions.
Every Thursday during term time.
